EOC Week 9: Three Great Mission Statements

From the three mission statements I have read from my classmates were all pretty good. I felt Abreana's mission statement was very friendly and clearly stated what target audience she wanted to cater to. I feel that she should of given more detail to the various products that her business was to offer to her audience. "Mission statements should be market oriented and defined in terms of satisfying basic customer needs." pg 40
Katie's mission statement, she chose her quotes very carefully and it defined what kind of coffee shop she wanted to bring to her targeted audience. "Difficulties arise in developing a product or brand that will satisfy all consumers." pg 187.
I felt Jose's mission statement needed more to it. His purpose is clearly defined to reach out to his targeted audience personally by incorporating fans love of football. Now he needs to answer these questions. "What is our business? Who is the customer? What do consumers value? What should our business be? These simple-sounding questions are among the most difficult the company will ever have to answer. Successful companies continuously raise these questions and answer them carefully and completely.”

Week 8 EOC: Creative Content

The creative content that I will incorporate in the development of my bar will be a radio broadcast of  upcoming opening events and flyers that will be sent electronically and posted locally at nearby hotspots like shopping malls, restaurants, and college campuses. My radio broadcast will be on popular Las Vegas radio stations and I will explain to the hosts and listeners about my idea for this new development for the younger audience. The poster will be an original design by me and I will use the pictures of the warehouse in the background. Another option is, I will create a 3-dimensional layout of the club and use that on my flyers as well.

Week 6 EOC: Me Times Three

As a daily consumer of random products that suit my daily needs and wants, there are three specific objects that define who I am in the market. I am a young teenager always on the move and the clothes and accessories I wear display my comfortable and active lifestyle. I begin with my feet because that is the ultimate transportation that I use regularly. My shoes have to be stylish so I can make decent first impressions and comfortable so I can walk for hours. Converse is a shoe that defines me because it has a classic style, with lasting comfort and use. They are very affordable and come with different yet reasonable color combos that don’t clash with my outfits, only enhances them.

The accessories I wear are simple. Silver hoops define my sassy attitude but are simple enough to wear on the go or for the evening. And last but not least is the bracelet I wear with almost every outfit. It is bronze and has the words carved Live, Love, Laugh, which are actions I express on a regular basis.

Week5 EOC: Superbowl Commercials

This commercial stood out to me as very entertaining and yet a little disturbing at the same time. First of all, I love Mercedes Benz, I think it is a car that displays affordable luxury. The scenario where the guy has a choice to sign a waiver with the "Devil" and receive all the glits and glamour that come with the vehicle is the disturbing part. People complain about the Volkswagen commercial being controversial, this is saying that making a deal with the devil and buying a Mercedes go hand in hand. Yes it was nice that in the very end the guy did not sign the waiver, however people don't really care about the ending. Once you have put Usher and Willem Dafoe, the man who plays the Green Goblin in Spider Man, you will most likely have an audience's attention. It seems that most people find it somewhat exciting or daring to do something involving the devil. I think it sends the wrong message but I do not make up the population, I am definitely out numbered when it comes to people who do not agree with what I am saying. I can admit that it was well made and everything flowed together real nice. I didn't like but it was a success.

Week 4 EOC: There's an App for That

It’s hard riding the bus on a regular basis. If I were to create an app for a smartphone, it would be a taxi application. Taxi drivers are always available, ready to take tourists where ever they please and make money. For someone who has no ownership of any vehicle or personal chauffeur, needs to think ahead and catch public transportation, the bus. Let us say that you’re out partying, wasted, or feel somewhat abandoned and you need a ride home. People call cabs all the time, but sometimes money isn’t always at hand. We live in a society that carries plastic, not paper. So why not have an application that allows you to call a cab and charge your fare immediately to your phone bill? The application also sends a signal to your cabdriver’s GPS device, no need for directions over the phone. Now the next issue at hand is, will every cabdriver in your area receive your call of distress? Not exactly, the GPS signal that is sent from your phone will only notify two cabs that are nearby. So one has competition with the other to see who gets to you first.

Has it Been Done?
Yes it has. Apple offers "Taxi Magic" for the IPhone and IPad. It allows all expenses to go straight to your card, and sends an e-receipt to your phone when you have reached your destination. It gives the expected passenger a map view of where their driver is located and no phone call is required. This app has been used in over 50 cities, making it one of the most rewarded applications.

Week 3 EOC: Making Money For Good

A company that is in the business of making money for good is FIGS. FIGS is a company that makes luxury neckwear and for every tie or pocket square they sell, a child in need of a school uniform will have one specially made for them. Founder Heather Hasson believes fashion can not only make you look good but also give someone the confidence they need in order to pursue an education or anything in life. “Uniting an impassioned interest for ties and pocket squares with the desire to promote global education, FIGS founder Heather Hasson breathes social consciousness into classic style. Mused by a mélange of experience tracing the plains of northern Kenya to the avant-garde ateliers of New York and Rome, Miss Hasson fuses her love of fashion with the promise of building confidence through education, one awesome tie at a time.”

All of her ties are hand sewn and made with the finest materials that resembles true craftsmanship.
“FIGS ties are hand sewn in New York and Los Angeles, as well as by our master tailors across the globe. We dedicate our attention and commitment to crafting products that inspire good taste and global education through impeccable fashion.”
Children all around the world need and want an education. Not everyone can arrive to an institution wearing rags or perhaps nothing to be taken seriously. Over 120 million children have no access to the basic necessities to go to school.  After Hasson’s voyages to Kenya, Tanzania, and Nepal,  she made it her goal to send children to school with uniforms that display prestige, but allows the child to be their own individual.
“It's not just a fruit. Or Adam's leafy cover up. We stand for Fashion Inspired Global Sophistication. We are here to inspire the world through fashion. Bringing style and confidence to work wear.”
Not only does FIGS give back to the community by uplifting our children, they also create more jobs which allows for more supporters.
